No. Treatment depends on the type of cancer, its stage and its molecular characteristics. Some cancers are best treated with surgery, others with targeted therapy or immunotherapy. Chemotherapy is one of many tools, not a default for every patient, and a thorough evaluation determines the most appropriate approach.

Yes. Immunotherapy, including checkpoint inhibitors, is available at C.R. Reddy Cancer Center. Eligibility depends on the cancer type and specific biomarkers, and Dr. Haritha will assess whether it is appropriate for your individual tumour profile.

Targeted therapy is used when a cancer has a specific mutation or molecular marker that a targeted drug can act on. It is available for certain lung cancers (such as EGFR or ALK), breast cancers (HER2) and several blood cancers. Molecular testing of the tumour is needed first to determine eligibility.

Yes. You can share your reports, such as biopsy results, PET scans, blood tests and previous treatment records, on WhatsApp for review by Dr. Haritha, and you will receive a detailed written opinion. A written opinion is advisory and does not replace an in-person consultation.

Bring all biopsy and pathology reports (and the slides or blocks if you have them), scan reports and CDs (CT, MRI, PET), recent blood tests, discharge summaries and treatment records from other hospitals, a list of the medicines you currently take, and your ID and insurance details. A family member is welcome to come with you. Consultations are available in Telugu, English, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Gujarati.

Many blood cancers are highly treatable and some are curable. Certain types of leukaemia and lymphoma have excellent cure rates with modern treatment protocols. Others are managed as long-term conditions with good quality of life. The answer depends on the specific diagnosis, subtype and timing of treatment.

Seek evaluation if you notice a mouth ulcer or white patch lasting more than two weeks, unexplained weight loss, blood in stool or urine, a breast lump, a cough lasting more than three weeks, swelling in the neck, abnormal vaginal bleeding, or unusual tiredness with bruising. Getting checked does not mean you have cancer, and early diagnosis usually makes treatment simpler and more effective.

Radiotherapy, which many treatment plans include, is coordinated with partner centres until the hospital's own radiation unit opens in 2027.
